Wakefield, West Yorkshire - We are looking to recruit a permanent veterinary surgeon to join this team based at the Hospital and surrounding branches.
£35,000- £60,000
Working alongside our existing team of 14 vets you will benefit from clinical support as they encourage collaboration and a team ethos across all departments.
The team are amazing, friendly, a little loud, and fun. They enjoy each other`s company, and like to reward the teams with regular treats and social events. They have a wellbeing group and offer extensive support to ensure both mental health and physical health are kept in the best possible condition.
The practices are well equipped benefitting from on-site CT at main hospital, Digital Xray at the three largest sites and ultrasound at all primary branches (S6/S8 from IMV x 3). IM3 dental machines are available at all operating sites, with dental xray available at Brindley Way. Abaxxis lab equipment is situated at all sites and the hospital benefits from coags and blood gases, in addition to standard lab equipment. Endoscopy, Arthroscopy, Video Otoscopy, Multiparameter monitoring, Tonopen, Bair Hugger, incubators and Ventilators, are all available at the Hospital.
About the role:
The role includes a mixture of consulting, case workup and surgery, fully supported by your VetGDP mentor and our other clinicians. They actively encourage the development of team members, providing training, easily accessed support and clinical guidance. They have a superb team of nurses including over 20 RVNS, many of whom have additional post-grad qualifications. They also benefit from dedicated receptionist support, many of whom hold BVRA and Customer Service qualifications.
The Rota:
Four day working week plus 1:4 weekends
OOH rota is 1:6 currently Mon - Fri 5pm - midnight. It is not standard for new graduates in initial stages, but would be expected in the first 6-12months of employment.
