We are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys equine work alongside a busy small animal practice.
The role can be flexible for the right candidate but ideally someone willing to work between 20 and 40 hours per week. The role would also suit a part time Equine Vet looking to build their own client base. Weekends and weeknights are shared equally normally a 1 in 4 rota. Weekend on call consists of Saturday morning small animal surgery (until 12) and then equine emergency work (we only had 12 OOH calls last year).
We only provide emergency cover for horses as Vets Now cover our small animal emergencies.
The salary for the role is up to £65,000 depending on experience.
We have a lovely, friendly, close-knit team 6 Veterinary Surgeons, 4 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 3 Student Veterinary Nurses, 1 Veterinary Care Assistant and 3 Receptionists. We have 3 certificate holders in the practice and so clinical work is performed to a high standard. We actively encourage CPD to continue this high standard.
They often enjoy `pub Friday` which in summer re-locates to the cricket club so they can all enjoy the early evening sun. They help to run a pet show (with an external judge!) at Betley show each August and we have a heavy involvement in the show each year.
They have all the equipment you would need and expect and probably more besides along with mobile equipment for the horses. Accommodation is available if needed...
