Referrals for an Orthopaedics Team Leader to join us on a full-time basis. Our successful candidate will be a Registered Veterinary Nurse with leadership experience and knowledge of working within a hospital environment. The hours of work will be full-time over a 5 or 4-day working week, at the preference of the successful candidate. We are offering a salary of up to £40,000pa for this position, in line with your level of experience, plus extensive company benefits.

Working patterns of 5x8 hours or open to 4x10 hours, however flexibility is essential to meet the needs of the service and some late shifts may be required. Shifts start at 07:30 and finish at 20:30 currently. 1:6 weekends with TOIL days given. No on-calls, however phone support may be needed when the Clinical Services Manager is unavailable.

You will work within our world-class orthopaedics referral service, providing outstanding levels of care to our patients and clients. You will see an interesting and varied caseload within our Specialist-led team, inclusive of osteoarthritis, elbow & hip dysplasia, hyperextension injuries, limb deformity correction & limb sparing surgeries, offering you unparalleled clinical development opportunities as well as the chance to lead and develop others.

In addition to working clinically within our orthopaedics team, you will lead a team of 4-5 RVNs initially, with plans to grow and develop the team over time. As such, you will inspire and motivate the team, as well as provide clinical training and ensure your team are on track with their personal development. Working in a senior role within a fast-paced referral hospital, you should possess excellent communication skills to ensure effective liaison with the rest of the team so that a high level of patient care is provided to all patients.

Situated just outside of High Wycombe (J4, M40), Buckinghamshire, Hamilton Specialist Referrals (HSR) is a purpose-built, state-of-the-art veterinary hospital that provides the latest in cutting-edge, specialist treatments for cats and dogs, supported by an exceptional rehabilitation and physiotherapy facility. Our hospital has seen significant growth within our team, services and facilities since we opened, and are currently undergoing further expansion. Our latest expansion will provide us with a 4th soft tissue theatre with fluoroscopy, a dedicated endoscopy suite, a triage/medicine room, a high dependency unit & oxygen facilities.

HSR has the latest technologies to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of any form of orthopaedic disease or injury. There is a 1.5T high-field magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computerised tomography (CT) suite on-site, and the hospital has invested in the latest direct digital radiography systems (also known as radiographs or X-rays) (DR). We routinely use computerised gait analysis to aid in the diagnosis of complex multi-limb lameness and employ the same technology to monitor recovery from surgery. This individual approach to post-operative rehabilitation optimises outcomes and shortens recovery times. Applicant Requirements
Due to the nature of the role, our successful applicant will be a qualified RVN with leadership experience and extensive knowledge of working in orthopaedics referrals. Further qualifications in orthopaedics, surgery or management would be desirable but are not essential at this stage.


Working Pattern
This is a full-time position, equating to 40hrs/week on average, over a 4-day or 5-day working week at your preference. Shifts fall between 07:30-20:30 as standard, over a variety of days and occasional late shifts to meet the needs of the service. There is a 1:6 weekend rota with time off in lieu, and there are no OOHs or on-call - although on occasion you may be asked to support with phones if the Clinical Services Manager is unavailable...
