Lead Vet vacancy in Kent

Up to £70,000 DOE (FTE)

40 hours per week over 4 days, 1 in 5 Saturday rota, no OOH. Part-time applicants welcomed.

An RCVS-Accredited Practice with extensive surgical, diagnostic, and medical facilities across 6 sites in the Kent/ East Sussex area. They offer keyhole surgery, laser therapy, and acupuncture treatments. You will be supported by a full and experienced team of Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVN), that carry out both nurse consults and vaccinations.

They are excellently equipped including inhouse lab, ECG, Endoscopy, ultrasound, radiography, separate dental room for all procedures dentistry x-ray, separate client care area, digital radiography, doppler ultrasonography, in-house laboratory, laparoscopic equipment and video endoscope and bronchoscope.

The experienced team hold a wealth of knowledge and have interests in surgery, radiography, anaesthesia, feline behaviour, dentistry, they have a visiting referral ophthalmologist, and feline medicine specialist.

The Lead Veterinary Surgeon role is key to the team``s success. You will be leading and working alongside a full clinical team of vets, nurses, and receptionists across all practices, aiming to provide the highest standards of care while, maximising convenience, reducing customer effort and bond clients to the Practice.

The Lead Veterinary Surgeon is responsible for managing the clinical activities of the Vets and acts as the first line of management, developing the team to optimise uptake of clinical services. In the Lead Veterinary Surgeon role, you will work closely with and support the Clinical Director to provide leadership, coordination, appropriate training, and development to the team. You will also need to take part in the day-to-day organisation of the team, responding to requests for unplanned absence cover. When you are not deputising, you will undertake duties of a vet. A surgical certificate would be desirable, however, not essential. We encourage and support certificate study if desired.
