Mixed Vet

Permanent Vet in County Antrim

Salary up to £63,000 depending on experience plus a relocation allowance up to £5,000 plus benefits

This role would suit a Veterinary Surgeon looking to work in a truly mixed dairy-beef-sheep practice, with some 1st opinion small animal work.

While 2 Vets do only small animals, the rest do a bit of everything including routine farm work, health and fertility visits, emergency obstetrics, Tb-testing, small animal consults and operations (if desired). All the work is equally shared and there is also the opportunity to do some 1st opinion equine work.

The standard full-time Vet rota consists of a 43-hour week, working 1 weekend in 4 with a long weekend off in lieu the following week. There is an OOH requirement to work 1 night per week on call, in the winter months and 1 night per week every fortnight, in summer months. Although this is advertised as a full-time role, we are open to both full time, part time and flexible working arrangements, ensuring the right fit for the team and the applicant.

They have all the usual equipment for both farm and small animal practice including easy scan/small animal ultrasound, IDEXX lab station, microscope, Ovacyte, x-ray, endoscope, ECG, kennelling/stabling facilities, cattle crush and pen, small ruminant operating table, and a horse stock.

You would be joining a team of 8 Veterinary Surgeons of which 4 have 20 years`+ experience. They have an enormously dedicated Veterinary Nursing (4 RVN and 2 SVN) team and Support team of 8. Two Vets are working towards a certificate.
