RVN availability at a Tier 3 hospital near Cambridge.

From £28,350 per annum pro rata and depending on experience.

Part time, average 19.42 hours per week over 3 days with 1 in 6 weekends. 1 bank holiday per year which is paid extra and with a day back in lieu.

The RCVS accredited hospital has a real emphasis in ECC and medicine, and by hosting their own Vet24 OOH service, they see an exciting and varied case load, benefiting from a continuity of day and night clinical care. Many local practices feed into their clinic, resulting in a true critical care case load. No day is ever the same. They are well equipped with everything you would expect, including endoscopes, full in-house laboratory assessments including blood gas analysis and coagulation times, digital X-rays including dental X-rays, ultrasound with linear and phased array probes, video gastroscope, bronchoscope and laparoscope, fully equipped theatre for ECC surgery and dental suite. There is a separate cat and dog ward, and they are proud to have silver cat friendly status. They also have on-site parking available for the team.?

As an RVN on their day team, you will get to experience all areas of nursing, including nurse clinics which area really encouraged. They have a brilliant team of experienced Vets, nurses, and support staff, several of whom have their own interests and certificates. With their twilight and night team also on site, this is a day only role. They have a strong ethos, and you will be welcomed into an honest and open team who really work well to support and encourage each other.?They love to support individual interests and can offer great in-house training opportunities, making the perfect environment to grow your skill.

The nursing role includes a wide breadth of nursing duties, incorporating the management of complex medical and surgical patients, provision of perioperative care, assisting with the provision of anaesthesia and schedule III procedures, as well as supporting the patient journey from admission to discharge. They also support their clients with regular (and busy!) nurse clinics. Their vets are amazing, many of them are certificate holders and some are advanced practitioners too. The veterinary surgeons appreciate and respect the nursing team, valuing their professionalism and input.??
