Permanent Vet in Shropshire

Salary up to £75,000 DOE plus, up to £5,000 Relocation Allowance plus, up to £5,000 Welcome Bonus

The job role entails a mix of consulting and routine surgery with the ability to expand surgical experience with support. Own ops day is encouraged to be able to work up your own cases. With full x-ray, ultrasound and endoscopy equipment and high spec blood machines, we have the ability to work at a high level.

Consultations are varied with mostly dogs and cats but also rabbits, guinea pigs and the odd chicken along the way. The daily variety allows for exploration of specific interests.

A typical rota would consist of working 4 days a week, totalling 38.5 hours. Saturdays are worked 1:5 and there is no out of hours required.

With most of the work done in house, cases are worked up to an extremely high level with the aid of top of the range blood machines, endoscopy, doppler flow ultrasound, brand new xray machine, suction pump, oxygen tents, multimodal ecg anaesthetic monitors and blood pressure machines.

Nestled on the Shropshire, Welsh Border, they have 3 branches serving the local community. With easy road and rail links to major cities like Manchester, you are never too far away from a great opportunity to spend some quality downtime exploring the region.

They have certificates holders in Surgery and Medicine ensuring great opportunities for case discussions and assistance, and work a rota to ensure that, wherever possible, cases are followed through from start to finish by the same vet.

Over 3 surgeries they have 5.5 FTE small animal vets including 2 certificate holder and 3 part time vets. The vets are assisted by a team of 5 RVNs, 2 SVNs , 3 ANAs, 2 SANAs and 4 receptionists.
