Permanent Vet in Lancashire

Salary Up to £65,000 DOE, Relocation Allowance up to £5,000

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Equine Veterinary Surgeon to join an established and well-respected mixed small animal/equine practice situated in the beautiful Lancashire countryside, who are conveniently located close to motorway links to Liverpool, Manchester, the Lake District, and beyond.

Our client is seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic vet to join their dynamic and sociable five-vet equine team. This role is available on a full-time or part-time basis. The team boasts a wealth of experience, providing a supportive and friendly environment where you can establish yourself as a key team member.

They serve a wide range of clients, primarily owning leisure horses, with some competition horses and racehorses. You will enjoy a diverse and interesting caseload where continuity is highly regarded and encouraged.

Full-time role would involve working a five-day week with one weekday night and one weekend in four on call, with two lieu days off for working a weekend (typically on a Monday and Friday to give a long weekend off) and bonus available for out of hours cases seen (subject to conditions).

The ideal candidate will have proven ambulatory experience and be confident working independently on the road. Building quick rapport with clients is essential. They strongly encourage comprehensive CPD and offer an attractive remuneration package.

The purpose-built equine clinic includes examination rooms, stables, a knockdown box, and paddocks. They are well-equipped with x-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, gastroscopy, shock wave therapy, and dentistry services. The in-house lab at the small animal clinic enables them to get quick results for urgent cases. Additionally, they offer acupuncture therapy.
