We are looking for a fully qualified RVN. Our ideal candidate demonstrates previous experience in a clinical setting, excellent communication skills as well as the ability to work well within a team and sole charge when necessary.
The typical day involves admitting and preparing animals for surgery including monitoring patient status, anaesthesia, accurate record-keeping, pre and post-surgery observations, stock ordering, assisting vets with surgical procedures and consultations, running nurse consultations, discharging pets and helping to coach and mentor student nurses. Responsible for Nurse rota, holding regular nurse meetings, annual staff appraisals, weekly meetings with CD/PM, general running of practice, monthly idexx quality control samples, x-ray monitoring badges, stock control, assist PM organise sick cover if necessary, any other duties as required.
Your shifts will be 32.5 hours per week, working between 8am - 7pm including 1:3 weekends with no OOH.
You will work across two well equipped, busy clinics with an experienced and friendly team of 8 Vets, 6 RVN, 3 ANA and 1 student nurse, 4 receptionists, 1 Practice Manager alongside a visiting specialist Ophthalmologist. The veterinary surgeons have certificates in surgery, dermatology and exotics. Full support will be given if you want to carry out a certificate, equally, there is no pressure to do so.
