Head Nurse Role
Pay:
£32,500.00-£34,500.00 per year
Working 4 days a week
1:7 weeks OOH
1:10 weekends (Sat and Sun)
Roughly 60% management / 40% clinical
Overview
Large Independent mixed Veterinary Practice in Launceston, are looking for a new experience Head Nurse to join a fantastic team of 11 small animal vets and 24 nursing colleagues.
You will be working closely with the Small Animal Partners, Small Animal Dept Manager and the Practice Manager to ensure the efficient management of the caseload and maintain the high standard of care we offer our clients and their pets.
The role
requires an exceptional individual with excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to motivate a large highly skilled team of RVNs, SVNs and VNAs, as well as our Front of House team.
Duties
Day to day running of the department and making rota changes due to staffing
Line managing the RVNs, SVNs and kennel assistants
Overseeing purchasing and stock control of medication and consumables
Ensuring the team follows Clinical protocols
Hosting regular nurse meetings and write and distribute minutes
Interdepartmental relationships at Launceston and Liskeard practices
Appraisals and 1-2-1s with your team
Health & Safety for your department
Reviewing and keeping COSHH forms and Risk Assessments up to date
Requirements
Strong Leadership skills
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to detail and strong organisational skills are essential.
