Permanent Night Vet role available at a hospital in SW19.
This role could be perfect for a vet not looking to put down roots, but wants a stable position for a year and can then explore other opportunities thereafter!
An appealing night rotation of 4 nights on 17 nights off averaging 17.3 hours per week, with shift times starting at 7.30pm. If you wished to work additional shifts through-out the year this is always possible!
The night vet salary for the above rotation is £30,275 to £41,087.50 (£70,000 to £95,000 FTE based on 40 hours per week) depending on prior experience.
This Veterinary Hospital offers a well-rounded caseload of routine procedures, emergency, and critical care, as it not only has its own first opinion client base, but also supports the surrounding Goddard practices for internal referral cases that require hospital expertise.
The hospital also provides specialist work with an orthopaedic and soft tissue surgeon, cardiologist, and physiotherapist, giving you peace of mind knowing you can refer any admitted night patients that may require more specialist treatment to your in-house day team.
Our new night colleague will be no stranger to sole charge night shifts, having ideally worked in the ECC environment before and is confident in managing ward cases and emergency surgeries that may arise during the night. Along with your RVN, you will provide exemplary care to your patients when admitted for their hospital sleepovers.
You will work alongside an experienced on-site registered veterinary nurse for your waking night shifts and will have support from the clinical management team if you needed to contact during the day for any queries.
They have excellent facilities including consultation rooms, dedicated operating suites, separate dog and cat hospitalisation wards, and isolation areas where strict barrier nursing techniques are observed. They pride themselves on their intensive care facilities with fluid infusion pumps, oxygen therapy kennels, heating incubators, and advanced monitoring equipment.
If you live locally, parking is available at a nearby RingGo spot, and due to the shift times, you will only need to pay for 1 hour.
Alternatively, accommodation is available at a nearby shared house for your on nights.
