Permanent Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon (Full and Part-time)
Salary £40k - 65k pro rata, depending on experience
Full-time position - 40 hours per week. Part-time can be considered
Flexible working options available
Some branch work may include sole-charge consulting
Participation in OOH rota (weekends only)
1 in 8 Fri & Sun on call (Mon and Tue off in lieu), 1in 8 Saturdays - a Friday off in lieu
We provide our own OOH service, with experienced vets and a dedicated night nurse team, ensuring continuity of care
-3 dedicated night RVNs (2 of whom have ECC certificates) who take the phones overnight for on-call vets.
-Recent graduates will be given veterinary back-up OOH. There is CCTV so you can remotely keep an eye on inpatients.
-Full time vets involved in the out of hour`s service do work a variation of 3, 4 and 5 day weeks throughout the 8 week rolling rota. If you are a full time vet doing on call you will only have two 5 day weeks in every 8 weeks. However, many of vets choose to have extra days off. They are very open to suggestion and happy to discuss what hours may suit you.
Practice has main hospital, 1 consult only branch and 1 operating branch locally.

Our small animal team have a high and varied caseload so are looking for an experienced vet to further support and expand their in-house services, with particular opportunities for those with surgical or orthopaedic interests.
There is a varied high caseload allowing for progression in many areas of veterinary practice.
