Permanent Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon (Full and Part-time)
Salary £40k - 65k pro rata, depending on experience
The full-time rota is based on a 40hr week with 1 in 8 on-call, and 1 weeknight on-call every 2 weeks.
This is remunerated with generous time off in-lieu:
- Monday/Tuesday off after working the weekend (Friday night & Sunday night on-call)
- Friday off after working a Saturday on call
- The following day off after your weeknight on call
On site accommodation is available for those that choose to stay at the practice, this is a private flat with showering and TV facilities.
-The rota is on a continuous 8 week cycle allowing you to plan your life ahead.
-OOH telephone answering service so you will not be taking calls directly.
-3 dedicated night RVNs (2 of whom have ECC certificates) who take the phones overnight for on-call vets.
-Recent graduates will be given veterinary back-up OOH. There is CCTV so you can remotely keep an eye on inpatients.
-Full time vets involved in the out of hour`s service do work a variation of 3, 4 and 5 day weeks throughout the 8 week rolling rota. If you are a full time vet doing on call you will only have two 5 day weeks in every 8 weeks. However, many of vets choose to have extra days off. They are very open to suggestion and happy to discuss what hours may suit you.
Practice has main hospital, 1 consult only branch and 1 operating branch locally.
They offer high quality, first opinion veterinary care in the stunning area of East Lancashire. Our small animal team have a high and varied caseload so are looking for an experienced vet to further support and expand their in-house services, with particular opportunities for those with surgical or orthopaedic interests.
There is a varied high caseload allowing for progression in many areas of veterinary practice.
