Surgical/Ortho Vet required for either a short or long term locum stint or a permanent position.
Starting salary is $80k, but scope for more depending on skills, abilities and qualifications. Also, it is worth noting that does not include % commission based pay from Ooh work also, which tends to increase base pay around $10-15,000 per annum.
We will pay for all costs associated in obtaining a work permit and Bermudian professional licensing. In addition, we will pay for 1 return air ticket. We will assist in finding accommodation and transportation
We are looking to replace our senior surgical vet. The candidate would need to be a general well-rounded practitioner but also have experience/qualifications (cert, AVP, diploma) in more advanced surgeries and orthopaedics (fracture repair/TPLO etc). As vets are limited on the island, we internally refer complex surgeries to the senior surgical vet as well as receive other more complex cases from other practices on the island. As this position involves GP emergency on call, experience as sole charge emergency cover is necessary.
Facilities include but not limited to:
Wide range of surgical instruments including Apollo TPLO plates, locking osteocentesis plates, Vi electric TPLO sagittal saw & high speed drill and Acculan 4 drill.
Two theatres with separate sterile theatre for clean surgical cases
Imaging: Digital xray, digital dental xray & Ultrasound
Extensive Idexx in house laboratory & external labs: Idexx & Histovet (cytology & pathology)
Snyder ICU unit O2 chamber
Heated dog & cat kennels
With our head nurse`s increased expertise in anaesthesia, we can provide tailored anaesthetic plans, together with great analgesic options include loco-regional techniques for our surgical cases included orthopaedics
