Permanent Mixed Vet role available in East Sussex
The Role:
1. To undertake consultations, diagnostics, medical treatments, and surgeries for a diverse range of animals in a mixed practice.
2. To treat emergency and critical care cases within working hours and out-of-hours on a rota basis.
3. To handle, examine and treat all species of animals including domestic animals, farm livestock and on occasion zoo animals.
4. To perform surgery and manage anaesthesia
5. Provide advice and guidance to clients regarding animal health and welfare.
6. Perform diagnostic testing such as radiography, blood testing and ultrasound scans.
7. Give advice to farmers on issues such as nutrition, breeding and herd health
8. To visit farms to check the health of livestock and perform home visits for small animals as necessary
9. Immunise animals against different types of disease
10. Euthanise old and terminally ill animals
11. Liaise with, and refer to, other professionals within the industry.
12. Work collaboratively with veterinary colleagues, nurses, and support staff.
13. Keep detailed and accurate medical records.
14. Be part of the out of hours rota
15. Maintain Continuing Professional Development requirements and adhere to RCVS guidelines.
16. Work in accordance with the practice policies and procedures and other relevant legislation

2-year post qualification

Strong surgical and medical
skills, with the ability to

Experience in mixed practice
Knowledge Able to demonstrate
excellent knowledge in all
areas of veterinary medicine
Qualifications MRCVS qualification - must
be RCVS registered or
eligible to register.
