Permanent Small Animal Vet position available in West London

We are looking for a permanent vet with a minimum of 3 years UK experience in practice to be based between our main site (team based) and branch surgeries (sole charge). We have 8 vets (some part time) so this role would suit someone who is confident with the basics in both surgery and medicine and someone confident managing their own cases and who also enjoys being part of a team sharing knowledge and experience. We are a busy hospital and there is plenty of scope to see a range of cases. The successful candidate will be a good team player keen to learn and progress, have a good sense of humour and have a real love for animals. We have vets with different interests, and we would be happy to support someone wishing to work towards a certificate. We are looking for someone with great communication skills - both with clients and the rest of the team. As there is some travel between sites, a driving license and a car is essential.

The Package

4 days per week with a share of long weekends off - with a different day off each week. We share out the Mondays and Fridays fairly between the team, and the rota is given five weeks in advance.
1:5 weekend / 1:3 Saturday Rota
No on call
£1500 CPD budget and encouragement to study towards a certificate in addition. Help and mentoring available from senior vets
Cost price veterinary treatment for your own pets
VDS cover
Accommodation (a self-contained flat above the Ruislip or Greenford surgery) can be included as part of the package - rent is £500 per month plus bills, which works out at roughly £625 per month, excluding council tax.

In terms of the weekends, its 1 in 5 long weekends. The Saturday is 8:30am-6pm and the Sunday is 9am-12pm for any rechecks from the Saturday (our phone lines stay transferred to our out of hours so most of the time they dont need to come in but still paid)
There is also 1 in 3 Saturday mornings, which are 8:30am-1pm.

We have a new digital X-ray and ultrasound, and we`re currently looking into getting dental X-rays as well.

Annual leave is 28 days, including bank holidays. VDS is covered, but RCVS fees would be the responsibility of the vet.

I think £60k would be the highest we could offer, although this would depend on their experience and we wouldn`t pay that level unless they were confident in surgery, happy to teach, and had at least 5 years experience.

We have three branches, all located around 15-20 minutes from our main practice in Ruislip. The role would involve providing branch cover, but they would need to make their way back to the main practice in between during the day, as we close the branches during the day to allow for more consults at Ruislip - so they would need to have access to a car. We do not provide visa sponsorship and the role would be a mixture of consultations and surgery with two surgery days per week.
